The Jewel Farm Sanctuary is a 501(c)(3) non-profit in Hibbing, Minnesota providing a forever home to farm animals.
MISSION: Our mission is to cultivate compassion, alleviate the suffering of animals, and foster a deeper connection to nature and all living beings.
VISION: Our vision is to create a world where all humankind, animals, and our Earth are valued, respected, and loved.
We envision a society where compassion guides our actions, where all beings are treated with kindness and dignity, and where the environment is protected for future generations to thrive.
Our History
The Jewel Farm Sanctuary began as a personal endeavor to provide a forever home for farm animals. The sanctuary vibe of the farm quickly attracted attention, leading to numerous requests for Michael and Francy to take on animals in need. This planted the seed of the idea to expand the sanctuary officially. Additionally, Francy's knowledge of Humane Education served as a driving force in her desire to create permanent homes for more animals and make a broader impact on animal welfare.
Motivated by her passion, Francy contacted her friends and colleagues, Diane, Jodi, Lora, and Stacey, who shared her commitment to various aspects of Humane Education. With their collective expertise and shared vision, The Jewel Farm Sanctuary was created as a haven for farmed animals and a platform for Humane Education. While Minnesota already had a few farm sanctuaries, the establishment of The Jewel Farm Sanctuary caters specifically to the Northeastern MN area lacking such facilities, allowing the sanctuary to serve the local community and extend its reach to animals in need.
Established as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in 2023, our primary goal is to provide compassionate and lifelong homes for farmed animals, while educating the public about the importance of animal welfare, environmental sustainability, and the ethical treatment of all living beings.

Join Our Board
The Jewel Farm Sanctuary is seeking additional members for our Board of Directors who share our passion for animal welfare.
As a board member, you will help shape the future of the organization and fulfill the mission of providing a safe and loving home for farm animals in need. We are specifically looking for individuals with experience in animal care, fundraising/philanthropy, nonprofit management, social media development, and marketing/communications, but welcome anyone passionate about our mission to apply.
