Visit This Farm Sanctuary

Want to learn more about the sanctuary and the animals we care for? We offer several options!

At The Jewel Sanctuary, the safety and well-being of our resident animals is our top priority. As such, we limit public access to the sanctuary to ensure that our animals are not disturbed or stressed by large crowds. We don’t accept unscheduled visits or walk-ins, and we ask that visitors respect our policies and guidelines to ensure the safety of our animals.

Ways to Visit

A great deal of the behavior that we deem cruel is not deliberate but due to a lack of understanding. It is that lack of understanding that we must overcome. And every time cruelty is overcome by compassion, we are moving towards that new and boundless ethic that will respect all living beings. Then indeed we shall stand at the threshold of a new era in human evolution- the realization of our most unique quality: humanity.

 FAQs on Visiting

  • At The Jewel Farm Sanctuary, we welcome volunteers who are at least 13 years old. For individuals under the age of 16, it is necessary to be accompanied by an adult guardian who is 18 years or older. We also offer independent volunteering opportunities for individuals aged 16 and 17, with the permission of and a waiver signed by their adult guardian.

If you meet these criteria and are interested in joining our volunteer community, we invite you to complete the application and waiver form provided here. These documents are important for us to get to know you and ensure the safety of all volunteers. After submitting the form, we will reach out to you to discuss further details and next steps.

Thank you for considering volunteering at The Jewel Farm Sanctuary. We appreciate your dedication and look forward to the opportunity to work together.

  • To ensure a comfortable and safe visit, please consider the following recommendations:

Weather Conditions: Our barn is outdoors, and the grounds can be muddy. Please wear appropriate footwear and clothing and check the weather forecast before your visit.

Clothing Recommendations: We require wearing close-toed shoes or boots and recommend long pants and clothes that can get dirty to ensure you are comfortable and protected during your visit.

Water Bottle: Please bring a filled water bottle, especially on hot days. Staying hydrated is vital for a comfortable and safe visit.

Photography: We encourage visitors to bring their phone or camera to capture memories of their visit. However, please respect the animals and other visitors, and remember to ask for permission before taking photos of others.

  • We appreciate your interest in visiting our Sanctuary with your pets, but for the safety and comfort of our rescued animals, we do not allow dogs or other pets on the grounds. As the Sanctuary is their home, we prioritize their well-being and safety. Please leave your pets at home and visit us without them.

  • To provide a safe and secure environment for our guests and rescued animal residents, we do not allow food during visits. Bringing food on the tour can attract unwanted animals and insects, posing a risk to humans and animals.

Additionally, some animals have specific dietary requirements, and feeding them can cause serious health issues.

Please leave all food in your vehicles and do not feed the rescued animals, as they have special diets that are carefully monitored by our staff. Thank you for respecting our rules and helping us maintain a safe and healthy environment for all.
